David Morgan is first class!I have attended several of David's Yoga sessions and this week I decided to try my first one-on-one Thai session with David. I was not surprised with how great I felt when the session was complete. David … More is extremely knowledgeable, professional and listens when you tell him what you need the most from his sessions.

Traditional Thai yoga massage, called nuad thai or nuad boran in the Thai language, is an ancient healing practice that has been handed down from teacher to pupil for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.

Unlike most massage modalities, in Thai yoga massage, the muscles are not rubbed. Instead, the Thai yoga practitioner compresses, pulls, stretches, and rocks the body of the massage recipient to relieve tension, remove blockages in the recipient’s sen lines of vital life force, and restore balance and harmony.

Thai yoga massage is a dry treatment, meaning no oils or lotions are used, and the recipient of the massage wears loose, comfortable clothing during treatment.

By opening joints, stretching muscles and tendons, toning internal organs, and balancing the body’s natural energy, the recipient enjoys deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and heightened states of physical, mental, and spiritual well being. Clients often report feeling both energized and relaxed after a Thai session with me.

Thai yoga massage incorporates the Buddhist practice of mindfulness through breath awareness. It is also a practice of metta, or loving kindness.

The 10 sen lines of Thai yoga massage are similar to the prana nadi of Ayurveda and the meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Compressions, rocking, and stretching remove blockages in the lines, allowing the body’s natural life force to flow. The belief is that blocks cause aches, pains, and disease — and by removing them, energy flows more freely, restoring balance and harmony.

Thai yoga massage increases flexibility and range of motion, relaxes the body and mind, and provides a sense of increased energy.
